Last week as President Obama addressed the state of the economy, he acknowledged that many Americans are struggling with hunger and are turning to food banks for help. But as those people reach out, he noted, food banks across the country are often unable to keep up with demand. Ozarks Food Harvest has been chosen to receive a $33,004 grant from the Louis & Dorothy Coover Charitable Foundation. The Food Bank was 1 of 13 local agencies that were awarded grants by the Community Foundation of the Ozarks on Tuesday, February 3rd. This grant will support the ongoing Weekend Backpack Program™ in rural elementary schools. Ozarks Food Harvest is honored and grateful for this generous support. Click here to learn more. |
