  • Missouri State University Homecoming 2009—4,416 lbs.
  • Spokane High School—4,295 lbs.
  • Weight Watchers—1,539 lbs.
  • Kickapoo High School—1,369 lbs.
  • Harvest on Wheels—758 lbs.

November—32,267 lbs. total

  • Turkey Trot, Springfield–Greene Co. Park Board—6,856 lbs.
  • Miller Produce—5,162 lbs.
  • Lambda Chi Alpha, Drury University—3,171 lbs.
  • Coldwell Bankers—2,331 lbs.
  • Great Southern Bank “Fill the Food Bank” Food Drive— 1,549 lbs.
  • MSU Sodexho Food Service—1,504 lbs.
  • Crockett Chiropractic—1,239 lbs.

December—34,506 lbs. total

  • McDonald’s “Cans for Coffee” Food Drive—12,897 lbs.
  • Evangel University Annual Christmas Concert—2,543 lbs.
  • Westport Elementary—2,017 lbs.
  • Field Elementary—1,968
  • St. John’s Hospital, Home Health and Patient Access Depts.—1,413 lbs. (collected more than 10,000 lbs. for its food drive total)           

The Food Bank is grateful for the Top Holiday 2009 Food Drives; however, Hunger isn’t a seasonal problem, but a problem that requires year-round solutions. To hold a Food Drive or to Volunteer to sort donated food in the New Year, please contact Jennifer Sickinger at (417) 854-3411 ext. 114.
